This charming Victorian-Style miniature house is crafted entirely from popsicle sticks and other simple craft materials. It features a steep gabled roof, a tall tower with a conical roof, and multiple windows that add charm and elegance. Perfect as a DIY project, this miniature wooden house is ideal for decoration, school projects, or as a fun crafting activity to practice patience and creativity.

Materials That You’ll Need:
– Popsicle sticks (1 x 11.5 cm)
– Printed layout or sketch of the house
– Hot glue
– Miniature bushes
– Pruning shears (to cut sticks)
– A rotary tool (for cutting and sanding)
– Acrylic paints (yellow, white, black, brown)

  1. Prepare some wooden popsicle sticks (1 x 11.5 cm)

    *Tips: You might need to sort the sticks carefully before crafting to ensure the whole quality of your models. High-quality sticks need to be straight and free from decay. You still can use low-conditioned sticks for later project that requiring less details.

  2. Arrange the craft sticks side by side to form a flat panel.

  3. Glue several sticks across to hold them together.

    *Tips: You can glue each sticks directly, but it always gives a bad appearance for your model as soon as the hot glue dries, also the joints can’t keep firmly for a long time. So it’s best to follow this method.

  4. Cut both rounded ends of these sticks, following the marked straight line

  5. Use a rotary tool with a grinding bit to smooth the cut

  6. Replace the grinding bit with a mini circular saw, then cut along the marked lines to make doors and windows

  7. Carefully pull off the sticks, also smooth the cut. You can save these excess pieces for later.

  8. Attach each parts to the flat wooden panel

  9. Use a rotary tool to grind and carve wooden sticks (1cm in diameter) into house columns

  10. They will look like this. Your model will need 6 columns

  11. Attach each stick on the floor panel. Make sure to keep them straight and aligned

  12. You can cut popsicle sticks in half to create smaller pieces for the hand-rail

  13. Apply the second floor panel

  14. Glue every part of the second floor

  15. Place the popsicle sticks (1 x 4 cm) next to each other in a staggered pattern, then mark a triangular shape.

  16. Cut the panel following the marked line.

  17. Use a rotary tool with a grinding bit to smooth the cut

  18. Drill a circular hole to create a window.

  19. Attach the gable wall to the house

  20. Reuse the leftover rounded ends of the popsicle sticks to make wooden roof panels

  21. You can also decorate with a roof dormer

  22. Place then onto the house. Ensure with hot glue or super glue.

  23. Attach the wooden sticks in a cylindrical shape.

  24. Form each cylindrical shape into a tower. You can create some windows following Step 6+7

  25. Glue 3 popsicle sticks together and cut out a triangle as in the picture

  26. Assemble the pieces together to form a pointed roof.

  27. Attach the pointed roof to the tower

  28. Add a wooden staircase to the model

  29. Add the window frames

  30. For the chimney, you can use small wooden pieces and wrap them with aluminum foil

  31. Add lively appearance to the house with acrylic paints

  32. Finish!

Painted in a warm yellow with white trim, the house features a detailed design including a shingled black roof, a front porch with railings, a side staircase leading to the second floor, and a tall tower-like extension with a pointed roof. The windows and doors are neatly framed, giving the model a realistic touch, while the wraparound porch and decorative balcony add elegance. Right now, you can dipsplay your model for decoration, or school project !
